#Microsoft is releasing its on version of the #Fitbit and #AppleWatch

"Microsoft Band product manager Adam Pollington said the device would unashamedly target the big names in wearable technology with a combination of fitness and smartwatch features.
“If you look at the market today, there are two pretty clear segments — you’ve got the activity tracker market and you have the smartwatch side with productivity and connectivity,” he said.
“The Microsoft Band sits in a new sub-segment of smart bands.”"

A guide on what all these different resolutions mean with TV's! 4K, Ultra HD, Full HD, 1080p

"Let's start at the top of the current TV market: 4K. This is a good place to begin, as it lets us talk about the basis for the vast majority of the confusion when it comes to resolution.
The short version is this: When it comes to TVs, 4K and Ultra HD (or UHD) are referring to the same resolution. Those TVs, along with Ultra HD Blu-ray, and nearly all UHD streaming content from Netflix, Amazon and others, is 3,840x2,160 resolution."

Look out for this email scam/virus! Very common, and uses a popular app, #Whatsapp

The virus is being circulated via email and is designed to look like it’s been sent by a legitimate source, researchers at Comodo Labs say. Fraudsters hope users will open the scam email and download the attached virus, which then infiltrates their phone.
Emails from the criminals contain sneaky subject lines including, “new voice message” or “an audio memo was missed” followed by a play button.
Others have received messages including “a brief audio recording has been delivered”, “a short vocal recording was obtained” and a fake notification about a video note.
Although none of the emails come from a WhatsApp address they are “disguised with an umbrella branding”, Comodo confirmed.

Heres some tricks on how to charge your #iPhone faster!

4. PUT YOUR IPHONE IN LOW POWER MODE
This isn’t as effective as using airplane mode, but it still helps speed up the charging process by disabling battery-draining features like Siri and automatic downloads.
Your iPhone will ask if you want to switch to low power mode when your battery drops below a certain level, but it can also be turned on manually whenever you want.
To do this, go to Settings > Battery > Low Power mode.
5. USE A 2.1 AMP WALL CHARGER
You know that wall charger that came in the pack along with your brand new iPhone 6s? Don’t use it.
It’s not quite up to the task of re-energising your phone in the same way a more powerful 2.1 amp charger — the one normally used for iPads — is.
Using the heavy duty charger will have you back tweeting, texting and Snapchatting in no time.

The next iOS update for your #iPhone will alter its screen colours to help with your eyes before going to sleep!

"Study after study after study has shown that light given off by electronics affects our sleep. The main issue is the blue light from LED screens can slow or halt the production of melatonin, the hormone that signals our brain that it's time for bed.
Night Shift uses your device's clock and location to determine when it's sunset, Apple said on its developer site. It automatically changes the colors in the screen "to the warmer end of the spectrum, making it easier on your eyes." In the morning, the display goes back to normal."

Time to upgrade your internet browser! All old versions of #Internet Explorer are now being discontinued from Microsoft.

Decline in usership
Use of these older versions of Internet Explorer has been in decline for years, and now it seems their life support machine will be finally switched off.  These older versions of IE will of course still be useable, but after January 12, they will receive no support from Microsoft.

Continuing to use these older versions of Internet Explorer means that users will become more at risk from hackers and cyber criminals.

Interestingly; the worlds first ever web page went online 25 years ago!

The Big Bang of the internet, as it were, happened back in the 1970’s. It had been possible to send data from remote computer to computer for almost 15 years, but making it accessible by people at large had always been quite elusive, leaving it largely in the preserve of military and governments across the world.
The world's first web page. It's as black and white as it looks.
